Answer: Generators are appliances which are used as an alternate source of power or electricity. These appliances are used when there is a power cut or in places where electricity has not yet paved its way. At the same time, generators are also used in instances where a constant supply of electricity is required. There are different kinds of generators available in the market. They are the petrol generators, the diesel generators, the gasoline generators and the natural gas generators. Each of this kind has their set of advantages as well as disadvantages. For example, petrol generators are considered the most efficient in terms of operation. This is because petrol generators produce less noise and emit less dangerous gas. However, the price of petrol generators is more than other kinds of generators. On the other hand, diesel generators are less expensive and are more fuel efficient. This means they run for longer. Diesel generators also have a longer life span when compared to other kinds of generators. Another advantage of diesel generators is that they require less maintenance. But it does not mean that diesel generators do not have any disadvantage. For instance, they produce a higher level of noise and emit harmful gases as by-product.Thus, while choosing generator for one’s requirement factors like availability of fuel, the price and the size should be considered. It is recommended to buy such a generator which has easy fuel availability. This will lower the operational cost of the appliance.
